Wild Roses

Today I noticed a lovely photo on a site that I watch.  I messaged the photographer, Colleen Fink, asking for her permission to use her photo as a reference.  She graciously told me that I could.
My painting does not do her photo justice; but I really enjoyed doing it.  I love the wild roses, they are tough and resilient and smell wonderful and even give you colour in the winter with their red rose hips.
I looked at it for a few days and decided that I didn't like it, so I reworked it a bit.

So while I wait for the oil painting to be dry enough to work on I am playing around with my pastels again.

Missing In Action

It has been a long time since I posted.  I was sick with pneumonia for quite a while and spent 3 weeks in the hospital and took some time at home to recover as I was very weak after.

Before I got sick I did finish this commission painting for a lady.  I like doing elevators as they are disappearing rapidly from our skyline, sad.

I have done a couple of pastels since I have been back at it and am also working on a commission painting for a lady;but cannot post a photo as 1.) it is not finished and 2.) it is a gift for her husband so is a secret.
