There is a mountain here that I am sure has been painted and photographed a million times.
It is known as Tetakawi Mountain and has been filmed in several movies as well over the years, such as Catch 22 and Zorro to name a couple.
A few weeks ago while I was hanging out at an art show I couldn't resist taking a few more photos of this mountain.
After looking at my photos I decided I liked one of them and decided to paint it.
So here it is.

Oriental Poppy
I think I am going to leave this one alone, it didn't turn out quite the way I wanted; but it is what it is. Sometimes things just have a mind of their own. The photo is cropped a bit smaller than the actual painting.
I really need to figure out a better place to take photos of my paintings also.

Art Show/Sale
The art group in San Carlos had an art show/sale this morning, so I took some of my paintings over there.
Spent the morning sitting in the sun and chatting.
Nice venue.
Setting up.
Local scenery.
Came home and made myself a torta out of some leftover Cochinita Pibil that I had made yesterday and then relaxed.
Later on we went outside and watched some dark clouds blow in with thunder rumbling, shortly after it began to rain hard. Very odd weather for this time of year here.

Butterfly Finished
I have several paintings on the go at the moment; but I did actually finish one the other day.
A fellow blogger Silke posted a photo from her garden some time ago. I loved the colours in it and asked her for permission to do a painting from her photo. She graciously said yes, thank you very much Silke.
So here is the painting:

Oil on canvas board
Size: 8 x 10 inches (20 x 25 cms.)
